The 15,874 letters Save Our Environment supporters sent urging the Obama administration not to cave to the mining industry’s attempts to open the Grand Canyon to hazardous and destructive uranium mining worked!

On January 9th, Secretary Salazar announced a 20-year ban on new uranium mining that will preserve the Canyon's landscape, protect critical wildlife habitat and local communities, and safeguard clean drinking water for millions of Americans.
