Tell EPA: Honey Bees Can't Wait – Ban Clothianidin NOW

The pesticide clothianidin may be killing our honey bees off by the billions, destroying a key species and endangering our food supply in the process.

The EPA wants to wait until 2018 to review the safety of this suspiciously approved pesticide but our honey bees can't wait 6 more years. And every bee colony that collapses threatens the future of our food supply...

France, Italy, Slovenia, and Germany have already banned clothianidin over concerns of its role in Colony Collapse Disorder.

Dear Administrator Jackson:

I am writing with concerns about the role that neonicotinoid pesticides like clothianidin may play in the growing phenomenon of Colony Collapse Disorder and the threat that these massive honey bee die-offs pose to both the future of the species and to our food supply.

I urge you to place an immediate ban on the use of clothianidin and other neonicotinoid pesticides and insecticide-producing genetically engineered crops to save America's honey bees from extinction.

European countries, including France, Italy, Germany (the home country of clothianidin manufacturer, Bayer CropScience) and Slovenia have begun banning these poisons, and some bee populations are beginning to recover.

The scientific study (by Bayer, the manufacturer of said pesticide) used to justify the approval of clothianidin in 2010 was found lacking by your own scientists. And 2018 is far too long to wait to review its safety given the pace at which our honey bee populations are collapsing.

Please immediately ban the use of neonicotinoid pesticides and insecticide-producing genetically engineered crops until and unless new independent scientific studies can prove they are truly safe.
