Off-road vehicle (ORV) advocates are pushing Congress to scrap a successful and balanced program that currently protects the breeding grounds for endangered shorebirds and sea turtles along the Cape Hatteras National Seashore.
If this bill passes, all 67 miles of this fragile coastline will be open year-round to destructive off-road vehicles – putting beach-nesting sea turtles, chicks, and beachgoers in harm's way.
As a member of the Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources, your senator will vote on this bill (S. 486) on June 18th.
Ask your senator to vote "NO" on S.486 and allow the successful management of the Cape Hatteras National Seashore to continue!
While all the organizations participating in the Save Our Environment Action Center share the common goal of
protecting the environment, individual groups can, and sometimes do, differ in their approaches to specific issues.
